Julia praises local emergency services for Pendennis Point Rescue10.00.00am GMT Wed 13th Feb 2008 Falmouth and Camborne MP Julia Goldsworthy has praised the work of local emergency services, after they rescued a man and woman whose car plunged 75ft over cliffs at Pendennis Point in Falmouth. The rescue operation was co-ordinated by Falmouth Coastguard and involved coastguards, ambulance, police, fire brigade and a cliff rescue team working together in extremely challenging conditions on the steep cliff-face. The cause of the accident is unknown and investigations are underway. Commenting, local MP Julia Goldsworthy added: "Once again our local emergency services have shown immense skill and bravery in very challenging conditions. We are extremely fortunate to have such dedicated men and women working day-in day-out to protect our local community. "Our thoughts are now with the people who have been rescued and their families. We wish them a speedy recovery.
