Julia opens new reception at Carn Brea Leisure Centre

12.00.00pm GMT Mon 7th Jan 2008

Local MP Julia Goldsworthy kicked off the New Year by opening the newly refurbished reception at Carn Brea Leisure Centre. Julia learned to swim at Carn Brea and took this opportunity to fulfil one New Year's resolution by booking herself into some exercise classes.

Commenting, Ms Goldsworthy said:

"It is a real pleasure to do the honours in opening Carn Brea Leisure Centre's new and improved reception area. A lot of hard work has been put in over Christmas to ensure that all the improvements were completed in time for the New Year. Congratulations are in order for doing such an excellent job!

"In the future it would be great to see the leisure centre move to new facilities, but the trust is doing the right thing in ensuring that the current buildings are maintained to the highest possible standards. The new reception area is just one example of the excellent work that is being done to achieve this. Not only have the improvements made the reception more welcoming, they also make it safer too."
