MP Raises Awareness Of Entitlement To Veterans Badge

UK Armed Forces Veterans Badge

Julia Goldsworthy MP is seeking bring to the attention of all those who served in the UK Armed Forces before 31st December, 1969, that they might be entitled to a "Veterans badge."

Commenting, Julia Goldsworthy said:

"I would like to encourage any local veterans to apply for the badge, it's very important that their contributions and sacrifices are recognised and honoured."

The following can also qualify: Merchant Navy seamen, Home Guard, Polish Forces under UK command, members of the Cypress regiment during the Second World War, Veterans of the Suez Canal Zone (1951 - 54) as well as war widows and war widowers who receive a War Widows/War Widowers Pension.

Regrettably, the badge cannot be issues posthumously as it is a survivors' badge, which is to be worn on civilian clothing.
